We’re excited to announce the launch of our Seminar Series “Tensions in Policy Learning: Grounding Learning Practices in Urban Southeast Asia,” supported by the Urban Studies Foundation (USF) Seminar Series Awards grant and organised by Dr Napong Rugkhapan, Dr Priza Marendraputra, Dr Tan Wenn Er, Dr Galuh Indraprahasta, and Dr Chieh-Ming Lai.
We welcome papers exploring policy mobility and learning practices in Southeast Asia, with selected papers invited to join us in a unique two-part workshop: two days at Indonesia International Islamic University in Depok, Indonesia, and three days at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. Together, we’ll shape these contributions into a special issue targeted at a leading urban studies journal.
More details on the series can be found here: https://www.urbanstudiesfoundation.org/funding/grantees/tensions-in-policy-learning-grounding-learning-practices-in-urban-southeast-asia/
To inaugurate the series, join us for a hybrid roundtable discussion featuring leading urban scholars:
- Prof. Tim Bunnell,
- Assoc. Prof. Sulfikar Amir, and
- Assoc. Prof. Daniel Goh.
This will take place on Thursday, 20 November 2025, from 4:00–5:30 PM at the ARI-NUS Seminar Room (AS8 #04-04 and online).
