The Urban Studies Foundation is a Scottish charitable organisation founded in 2008. Our aims and objectives include advancing academic research and education in the field of urban studies. We realise these outcomes primarily through the provision of grant funding for individuals and institutions engaged in groundbreaking urban research and knowledge mobilisation around the world. Below you can find out more about our aims, operations, awardees, and history.
"The USF International Fellowship significantly advanced my career development — both academically and through international collaboration. My six-month residency at the University of Melbourne allowed me to engage deeply with scholars on urban climate resilience and informality, refining my research and expanding my networks. These connections led to joint proposals, seminar invitations, and increased visibility, strengthening my role in interdisciplinary, South–South–North urban research."
Dr Michael Osei Asibey, International Fellowship
