This grant was awarded to USF International Fellow Dr Ofita Purwani.
This grant supported the organisation of several activities at the 2024 ICAS (International Convention of Asian Scholars) 13 conference in Surabaya, led by Ofita Purwani, Kristian Saguin, and Andre Ortega. Activities included an institutional roundtable, a writing workshop, and an informal reception. The primary goal of these events was to foster collaborative engagement between international scholars present at the conference, support ECRs based in the region, and to introduce and promote the Urban Studies Foundation to the wider urban academic community in Southeast Asia, a region that has been underrepresented in global urban scholarship.
