What does a city mean to queer people?
What is a place of pride, of fear, of protection, of ambition? What gets to be called a queer-friendly place? This pride month, join a group of Dalit and Bahujan queer people who have come together to launch a collective zine, born from the messy, raw, and radiant geographies of queer-caste life in Delhi.
Built through workshops, conversations, and collective memory, this zine celebrates the Sahibi, a tributary of the Yamuna. To us, it is more than a drain. It is an archive of humiliation, survival, and hope. It winds through spaces marked as ‘other’: from Madipur to Vijay Nagar, Raghubir Nagar to the alleys of transience and tenancy, carrying with it stories of shame and joy, heartbreak and desire.
10 years after three Dalit queer people read out a manifesto at Delhi Queer Pride, this gathering hopes to hold together the fragments, objects, and memories that make life possible in a city that rarely sees us. Join us in this space to reflect, witness and hold the many ways we live, desire, and remake this city.
