The event will mark the launch of a curated collection of Pow’s writings, produced and funded by the Urban Studies Foundation: C.P. Pow: selected essays (2025). The collection brings together his representative results in the study of Asian cities, covering a variety of issues such as the analysis of the moral geography of closed communities in China, reflections on neoliberal urban ecological policies, and a critical examination of housing and lifestyles for specific classes. Pow’s work not only explored the social differentiation and moral judgment in urban space, but also faced the “sustainability repair” and “green governance” behind the ecological city, expanding our perspective on understanding and analysing urban power, culture and environment.
