Urban Studies Foundation session at the 2025 International Conference on China Urban Development

7-8 July 2025, University College London (UCL)

At this year’s International Conference on China Urban Development in London, the Urban Studies Foundation will host a session in memory of C.P. Pow – colleague, collaborator, and former trustee – whose intellectual generosity and methodological attentiveness continue to shape the ways we study, inhabit, and imagine cities.

The session will mark the launch of a curated collection of Pow’s writings, produced and funded by the Urban Studies Foundation: C.P. Pow: selected essays (2025)

Framed as a collective conversation, it will bring together those whose own scholarship has been shaped by Pow’s work on sensory politics, moral geographies, ecological urbanism, and the circulation of planning expertise – and those who wish to carry his legacy forward in critical, situated, and generous ways.

This session is organised by Prof Deljana Iossifova, and enquiries may be sent to: grants@urbanstudiesfoundation.org

"The USF International Fellowship provided an excellent opportunity to further my career as an Urban Geographer. Having dedicated time away from everyday University responsibilities allowed me to make progress on my writing and develop the proposal for my monograph."
