Dr. Daniel Sanfelici is Assistant Professor of Economic Geography at the Graduate Program in Geography at Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) in Brazil. He holds a Master’s degree and a PhD at the University of São Paulo. He was also a Fulbright PhD Visiting scholar at the City University of New York (CUNY) (2010-2011) and a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratoire Techniques, Territoire, et Sociétés (LATTS/Université Gustave Eiffel) (2015).
Over the past few years, Dr Sanfelici’s work has focused on the growing entanglements between real estate and financial markets in Brazil, with a view to understanding the impacts of such developments on cities and regions. He has published results in international peer-reviewed journals, including Urban Studies and Urban Geography.
As a USF International Fellow, Dr. Sanfelici will spend four months working with Dr. Ludovic Halbert at the Université Gustave Eiffel (Paris) on a research project comparing large institutional and corporate owners in Brazil’s commercial real estate market.
