The online seminar can be watched live at the YouTube channel of IEAUSP.

This international online seminar initiates an Urban Studies Foundation-funded Seminar Series exploring the urban struggles of marginalised women in transforming their peripheral territories in different contexts of the Global South, particularly, Southern Africa and Latin America.A three-day virtual event from 6 to 8 November (2023) will bring together over one hundred scholars and three keynote speakers to debate critical feminist urban research and explore new epistemologies at the intersection of gender, women’s urban struggles, and the production of peripheral territories.

Following the virtual seminar there will be three face to face seminars in São Paulo (March 2024), as well as Johannesburg and Dar es Salaam (April 2024). "Being approved for the USF International Fellowship proved to be a pivotal moment in my career, offering a much-needed boost of stability and opportunity following the completion of my PhD. It was crucial to have nine months to concentrate on publishing and presenting my work in high-impact journals, during which time I was also able to foster interlocution and consolidate a network of exchange with international urban researchers. The Fellowship has created many positive consequences and opportunities for the development of my career and academic skills, and I am confident that this mark on my professional journey will be very valuable in the long term."
